Strategy & Transactions
The Strategy & Transactions Practice advises on bespoke, cross-disciplinary transactions where strategic judgement, structuring creativity, and execution are central to achieving our client’s objectives.
The practice focusses complex and non-standard transactional work, including strategic restructurings, cross-border transactions, and matters involving the interaction of legal, financial, tax, and governance considerations. Such work typically requires careful evaluation of transactional structure and associated risks, particularly where established transaction models do not readily address our client’s objectives.
Where matters raise governance, reputational, or enterprise considerations, our practice adopts a measured and strategy-led approach to assist our clients in navigating issues with solutions that cater to their needs.
The practice is led by Sim Ho Ong, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the firm, who brings more than 25 years of experience advising on complex corporate, commercial, and family transactions across multiple jurisdictions and sectors. His experience spans structured finance, restructuring, real estate joint ventures, and transaction re-characterisation, which enables our practice to give our clients creative yet disciplined solutions where conventional approaches have failed.
Our emphasis is on strategic clarity, careful structuring, and controlled execution, supported where appropriate by cross-disciplinary teams across the firm. Engagements are undertaken selectively, with a strong focus on judgement, discretion, and alignment with our clients’ priorities.
