Deputy CEO Ong Sim Ho was recently interviewed by Asian Legal Business and shared insights into Drew & Napier’s strategic efforts to strengthen its Corporate practice and expand the firm’s corporate and commercial capabilities.

In the interview, Sim Ho discusses how the firm has built on its longstanding reputation as a litigation powerhouse to develop a more integrated approach to corporate advisory. Under the leadership of Cavinder Bull SC, the firm has strengthened its Corporate practice by bringing on board leading practitioners across tax, construction and engineering, technology, capital markets, and energy and infrastructure.

Sim Ho also highlights the evolving expectations of corporate clients, who increasingly require legal advisers capable of navigating complex commercial transactions alongside regulatory, governance, tax and litigation risks.

To address these needs, the firm established its Strategy & Transactions platform, led by Sim Ho, which integrates commercial strategy, risk management and transactional expertise. This whole-of-firm approach draws on Drew & Napier’s strengths in dispute resolution and corporate advisory to help clients anticipate risks and achieve their commercial objectives.

Over the past six months, the firm has been engaged as strategic and risk counsel on three major deals with a combined value of US$2 billion, reflecting growing demand for its integrated approach.
