Drew honoured with 7 awards at the ALB Southeast Asia Law Awards 2024

We are delighted to share that Drew & Napier won seven awards, comprising of one deal, two individual, and four practice awards, at the annual ALB Southeast Asia (SEA) Law Awards 2024 held at the InterContinental Singapore last evening.
Directors Lim Chong Kin and Blossom Hing have been named Southeast Asia Data Privacy and Protection Lawyer of the Year and Woman Lawyer of the Year (Law Firm), respectively.
Chong Kin, who is also the Managing Director of Corporate & Finance and heads the Data Protection, Privacy & Cybersecurity practice, has been honoured with the award for his expertise in the data privacy and protection space. He is also a pioneer in data protection and cybersecurity laws, having assisted in the set-up of Singapore’s data protection framework. Consistently recognised by leading publications, he has been named one of Asia’s Super 50 TMT lawyers by ALB for four consecutive years.
Receiving the award for a second time, Blossom’s SEA Woman Lawyer of the Year award is an acknowledgement of her outstanding achievements not only in legal practice but also in the broader community. This award is the latest addition to her impressive list of achievements, which includes her being named Litigator of the Year in Southeast Asia in the ALB Women in Law Awards 2021 and 2023. She was also identified as one of the Top 100 Women in Litigation for four consecutive years since 2020 in the latest edition of Benchmark Litigation Asia Pacific and one of Asia’s top 50 most highly recommended arbitration and litigation practitioners in ALB’s Asia Super 50 Disputes Lawyers in 2021.
Continuing our streak of success, we showcase our prowess in international arbitration by winning the International Arbitration Law Firm of the Year for the seventh year. Our deep bench of experienced lawyers prides itself in conducting advocacy at all stages of the arbitral process, in proceedings around the region and beyond. The firm also bagged the title of Singapore Intellectual Property (IP) Law Firm of the Year for the fourth year. Our award-winning IP Practice houses a team of talented lawyers with in-depth experience in handling a wide range of contentious and non-contentious IP work, including IP litigation, patents, designs, trade marks and servicemarks filings, copyrights, licensing, distributorship, franchising and confidentiality agreements.
For the second year running, our Tax & Private Client Services Practice has clinched the SEA Tax and Trusts Law Firm of the Year. With specialisation in tax litigation, corporate tax advisory, enterprise tax risk management, private wealth planning, succession, and asset protection, our practice stands as the broadest full spectrum tax law advisory team in Singapore.
We are also the proud recipient of the SEA Construction Law Firm of the Year. We provide start to end legal, contractual, technical and practical advice on construction and engineering-related work, with particular expertise in Singaporean and regional energy and infrastructure projects.
In a similar vein, we achieved a remarkable feat by securing the SEA Debt Market Deal of the Year for acting in the Pfizer’s Debt Offering. Drew played a pivotal role in representing Pfizer Inc. and Pfizer Investment Enterprises Pte. Ltd. in executing one of the most substantial debt offerings in the United States. The deal was led by Directors Renu Menon and Ong Ken Loon, and related aspects of the deal were supported by Directors Benjamin Gaw, Pauline Chong, Jon Nair, Adam Maniam, Mohan Gopalan, and their teams.
The 20th annual ALB SE Asia Law Awards recognises the exceptional performance of private practitioners and in-house counsel across SE Asia and beyond. The winners were decided following rigorous assessments by an independent judging panel of senior and expert legal industry leaders from various sectors corresponding to the diverse list of award categories.
