Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Act 2019 comes into operation

The Criminal Procedure Code was last amended in Mar 2018 by the Criminal Justice Reform Act 2018.
 
On 11 Feb 2019, the Ministry of Law tabled the Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill for the first time in Parliament. The Bill seeks to improve and refine the processes introduced or amended in the Criminal Justice Reform Act 2018. 
 
The Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Act 2019 was passed by Parliament on 8 Mar 2019 and gazetted on 26 Mar 2019. It came into operation on 21 June 2019.
