Head of IP Practice, Tony Yeo, appointed to Panel of IP Adjudicators

27 Mar 2019

Drew & Napier is pleased to announce that the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) has appointed Tony Yeo, Managing Director and Head of Drew’s IP Practice, as an IP Adjudicator starting from April 2019 for a two-year term. In recent years, the Registrar of Trade Marks has been appointing a number of external IP Adjudicators to hear IP disputes at IPOS. These Adjudicators typically hail from academia and the Legal Service. A smaller proportion is drawn from private practice.

Regarding his appointment, Tony said, “The appointment of IP Adjudicators from private practice will bring commercial perspectives to the table. This will be very helpful to Singapore’s effort to maintain its lead as Asia’s IP hub as companies look to Singapore as an emerging venue for complex IP dispute resolution. This also shows considerable foresight on the part of IPOS."

Tony is consistently identified as a leading individual in IP by numerous renowned publications such as Chambers, Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal, Managing IP, Asia IP, World Trademark Review, and IAM Patent.

Tony is also the President of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) – Singapore Group.
