Drew team dominates ALB Asia Super 50 Disputes Lawyers for fourth consecutive year

We are pleased to share that Chairman Jimmy Yim, SC, and Directors Mahesh Rai, Rakesh Kirpalani, Meryl Koh and Adam Maniam have been named among this year’s Asia Super 50 Disputes Lawyers by Asian Legal Business (ALB). This is the fourth consecutive year that Drew has dominated the list, garnering the highest number of recognised disputes lawyers in Singapore and Asia.

Mahesh has been recognised in the list for four consecutive years since its inauguration in 2021, followed by Jimmy, Rakesh and Adam who have been recognised for three years each. Meryl, meanwhile, has joined the list for the first time. Congratulations all for the well-deserved accomplishment!

Jimmy is held by his clients in high regard as they noted that he should “serve as a role model for other lawyers aspiring to be exceptional”. His attention to detail, extensive legal knowledge, and depth of experience combined with a keen sense of commercial reality have also earned him admiration and respect.

Mahesh’s clients, meanwhile, value him for being “highly strategic and consistently achieving wins in challenging cases” and being “unmatched in his field”. A client said, “Mahesh adeptly navigates complex issues and delivers commercially savvy solutions”.

Rakesh is commended by clients for his handling of legal and technical complexities, saying that “his appreciation of tech law issues is among the best in Singapore”. They also mentioned, “his heart for the community is extremely rare among lawyers in Singapore and he should be well recognised for this”.

Adam is described as a “brilliant lawyer” with “first class” advocacy who is “better than some senior counsel”. He is known for demonstrating “remarkable patience and thoughtfulness in his approach to the case” and for consistently taking “a pragmatic approach throughout the case”.

Clients value Meryl’s advice on litigation strategy as “more on point and effective than other senior lawyers”, and said that she is “progressive, able to think outside the box, and understands the modern technologically focused world”.

The annual Super 50 Disputes Lawyers list spotlights top disputes lawyers in Asia based on client recommendations gathered by ALB. The lawyers are identified for their outstanding client service and strong reputation in the legal community.
