We are delighted to share that Drew & Napier continues to gain regional recognition in the recently released Chambers Global 2022 rankings.

The firm is ranked as a leading firm for International & Cross-Border Capabilities (Singapore and Southeast Asian Firms) for the 4th consecutive year. Chambers noted that the firm is “accustomed to playing a coordinating role on matters throughout ASEAN, and is frequently sought out by international firms to work on the local or regional elements of substantial international mandates.”

A client went on to praise our lawyers saying, “the Drew & Napier lawyers are internationally trained and good with cross-border work."

In addition, our dexterity in handling international arbitration in Asia-Pacific is recognised by Chambers in its global rankings. The firm is noted for “extensively engaged on arbitrations with connections to virtually all parts of the Asia-Pacific region, handling all stages of the arbitral process, including enforcement, and extolled for intense preparation and powerful advocacy”.

Our ability to take on high profile dispute cases in India also stood out. The firm is “trusted by businesses in a wide range of industries” for advising corporate clients on domestic and cross-dispute matters, offering both litigation and arbitration capabilities, including on inter-state arbitrations.

In Indonesia, Chambers noted our capability to offer substantial expertise in corporate and finance, especially in banking and finance, M&A, energy and natural resources and real estate. We are considered as the “go-to firm” for major restructuring and insolvency matters, with an established reputation acting for Indonesian debtors.

Our CEO, Cavinder Bull, SC, is the sole Senior Counsel ranked as a Global Market Leader for Arbitration (International) and he has risen a band in the global-wide rankings.

Four of our brilliant lawyers debuted into the rankings this year. They are Siraj Omar, SC in Litigation, Mahesh Rai in Arbitration, Tan Teng Sen in Corporate/M&A, and Pauline Chong in Banking & Finance.

In total, our lawyers were recognised 15 times in Chambers’ latest Global rankings.

Overall, the firm maintained its rankings in 11 practice areas. We are ranked Band 1 in Singapore: Dispute Resolution: Litigation for the 14th consecutive year, a testament to our unmatched prowess in the field.

We share the limelight with our fellow Drew Network Asia (DNA) pillar firms. Makarim & Taira S. has been ranked in Corporate/M&A and Projects & Energy with four lawyers recognised.

Shearn Delamore & Co. has been ranked in three practice areas. They are Corporate/M&A, Banking & Finance and Banking & Finance: Debt Capital Markets. Four of their lawyers are also ranked. Among its latest achievements, our Malaysian pillar firm is ranked Band 1 in Corporate/M&A while Consultant Ng Swee Kee is the sole lawyer recognised as an Eminent Practitioner in Corporate/M&A.

Martinez Vergara Gonzalez & Serrano (MVGS), the latest addition to the DNA family, also did well. The Philippines firm is ranked in two practice areas – Banking & Finance and Corporate/M&A.

These accolades add to our achievements in the Chambers Asia-Pacific 2022 guide, released in December 2021, as well as the Legal 500 Asia-Pacific guide, released in January 2022.
