Directors Lim Chong Kin and Rakesh Kirpalani among ALB’s Asia Super 50 TMT Lawyers for 6 consecutive years

We are delighted to announce that Lim Chong Kin, Head of Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) Practice, and Rakesh Kirpalani, Chief Technology Officer, have been recognised among Asia Super 50 TMT Lawyers by Asian Legal Business (ALB) for the 6th consecutive year. Chong Kin and Rakesh have been featured on this list every year since its inaugural edition in 2021, underscoring their deep expertise.
They were ranked among the Asia Super 50 TMT lawyers shaping the region’s fast-evolving technology, media, and telecommunications sectors, based on client feedback submitted to ALB in December 2025. Lawyers were recognised for their work as well as the commercial standing of their clients who provided recommendations.
As one of Singapore’s leading technology and regulatory lawyers, Chong Kin’s recent cross-border work demonstrates his expertise in digital economy. Regionally, he continues to be relied upon by regulators across ASEAN, including in ongoing advisory work supporting, conceptualising, drafting, and implementing regulatory and policy frameworks governing the digital economy. Among his notable mandates, he led his team in advising Brunei’s Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry on the development and implementation of a personal data protection framework for the private sector. Domestically, he regularly advises authorities on telecommunications and digital policy, including technology export controls and emerging technologies.
Chong Kin is held in high regard by his clients, who commended him to ALB for assembling and managing cross-border, cross-discipline legal teams “with precision, producing integrated outputs aligned with fast-moving business needs”, and highlighted his expansive expertise, noting that “[h]is combined experience in competition, data, and regulatory work enables clear guidance on complex, economy-wide digital issues.”
Rakesh leads the Dispute Resolution & Information Technology practice and DrewTech. A unique hybrid of disputes lawyer and technology expert, Rakesh handles matters spanning arbitration, commercial and corporate litigation, restructuring, employment, information technology, and international arbitration. His multi-jurisdictional matters include leading as international counsel on a ransomware incident for a regulated multinational, coordinating regulatory responses in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom, advising a financial institution in an ongoing multi-million-dollar dispute, and successfully defending a cross-border payment-processing dispute.
