Construction Specialist Chris Chong joins Drew

Construction law specialist, Christopher Chong, joined Drew & Napier on 1 June 2019. He joins us as an Equity Director together with his team. This follows on the heels of tax and oil & gas expert, Ong Sim Ho, who joined the firm in April 2019.
 
Chris was previously a partner at Pinsent Masons before setting up his own practice. He brings with him almost 20 years of experience in the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious Construction work, and has been involved in some of the biggest construction projects in Singapore including Resorts World Sentosa, South Beach, Paya Lebar Quarter, Downtown & Thomson Line, Singapore Power Electricity Cable Tunnel and Changi Airport Terminal 4. 
 
Chris is an experienced lead counsel in construction litigation at all levels in the Singapore Courts and in international and domestic construction arbitrations and has been ranked by Chambers & Partners Asia-Pacific as a leading dispute resolution lawyer and construction lawyer. He also has one of the leading adjudication practices in Singapore, having been counsel for more than 100 adjudications and adjudication reviews since 2013. Additionally, Chris sits as an adjudicator for SOP adjudications. 
 
Chris will head up our Construction & Engineering practice and will oversee its development. Chris will be flanked by Deputy Head of Construction & Engineering, Mahesh Rai, who was recognised as an Accredited Specialist in Building & Construction Law in January 2019.
