UK Supreme Court considers post-termination restrictive covenant

The UK Supreme Court recently upheld the validity of a post-termination restrictive covenant for the first time in over a century in Tillman v Egon Zehnder Ltd [2019] UKSC 32.
 
The point of interest to employers is that the UK Supreme Court held that a covenant prohibiting a former employee from having shareholding in a competing business was unreasonably wide, but enforced the covenant after it decided that the offending words could be severed from the covenant.
