Second Consultation on Regulatory Regime for Fund Management Companies

04 Oct 2011

The Monetary Authority of Singapore has issued a second public consultation on its proposed regulatory regime for fund management companies. The consultation contains enhancements to the proposals set out in the first consultation issued last year. They include new business conduct requirements, renaming of the category of “notified fund management companies” to “registered fund management companies”, and some administrative measures. The consultation paper also includes draft legislation containing the proposed amendments to regulations issued under the Securities and Futures Act and Financial Advisers Act in relation to the new fund management companies regime.
