The Legal 500 Country Comparative Guide to Litigation 2026 – Singapore chapter by Drew & Napier

20 Aug 2026

Managing Director of Dispute Resolution, Mahesh Rai, together with Dispute Resolution Directors Randolph Khoo, Woo Shu Yan and Adam Maniam, have authored the Singapore chapter of The Legal 500: Litigation Country Comparative Guide 2026 (9th edition).

The chapter provides a practical overview of resolving disputes in Singapore through litigation, while also introducing key alternative dispute resolution processes such as arbitration and mediation.

It outlines the Singapore court system and addresses key procedural and strategic considerations, including the commencement of proceedings, jurisdictional issues, interim remedies, evidence, costs, appeals, enforcement of foreign judgments, third-party funding and representative proceedings.

The chapter also considers developments shaping commercial litigation in Singapore, including the continued use of remote hearings, legal technology and the growing role of artificial intelligence in litigation practice.

You may read the Singapore chapter of the Guide here.

With appreciation to Associates Ang Qi An and Elizabeth Koh for their valuable contributions to the chapter.
