New Tripartite Mediation Scheme To Be Introduced For Executive Employees

The Industrial Relations (Amendment) Bill 2010 was passed by Parliament on 22 November 2010. The amendments to the Industrial Relations Act has taken effect on 1 February 2011.

The amendments:

  • establish a new tripartite mediation scheme to resolve certain types of disputes between employers and executive employees; and
  • increase the penalties under the Act, so as to update and align them with the penalties under the Employment Act.
