Launch of the variable capital companies framework

The Variable Capital Companies Act 2018 came into force on 14 January 2020, with the Monetary Authority of Singapore announcing the launch of the variable capital companies regulatory framework on 15 January 2020.
 
This article provides an overview of the new framework, and highlights the salient features of the variable capital company. It also sets out the grant scheme launched by the Monetary Authority of Singapore which is intended to benefit qualifying fund managers.
