It is well established that banks owe their customers a duty of care. In this update, Director Terence Tan discusses the UK Court of Appeal case of Philipp v Barclays Bank UK plc  EWCA Civ 318, which considered whether banks are expected to question their customers’ instructions and prevent them from falling victim to fraud, and considers the position in Singapore.
