21 Feb 2024

We are delighted to announce that Drew & Napier continues to achieve regional recognition in the recently released Chambers Global 2024 rankings.

The firm is ranked as a leading firm for International & Cross-Border Capabilities (Singapore and South East Asian Firms) for the 6th consecutive year. A client shared with Chambers that “Drew & Napier, together with its partner firms, has expertly assisted us to navigate through complex and sophisticated cross-border elements.”

In addition, our prominence and dexterity in handling international arbitration in the Asia-Pacific region is recognised by Chambers in its global rankings. A client interviewed by Chambers commended, “It is a pleasant experience working with Drew & Napier . . . The way they execute their strategy is effective from a cost perspective and the performance is on par with firms from the US and UK.”

Our prowess in high-profile dispute cases in India also stood out. The firm was described as having “an able and seasoned team. The team was responsive, and we worked seamlessly.”

In Indonesia, Chambers noted our capability to offer substantial expertise in corporate and finance, especially in banking and finance, M&A, energy and natural resources, and real estate. We are considered as the “go-to firm” for major restructuring and insolvency matters, with an especially established reputation acting for Indonesian debtors.

Two of our lawyers debuted into the rankings this year, namely CEO Cavinder Bull, SC for Singapore – Dispute Resolution: Most in Demand Arbitrators and India – Dispute Resolution (Desk based abroad in Singapore), and Director Mahesh Rai for India – Dispute Resolution (Desk based abroad in Singapore).

In total, our lawyers are recognised 20 times in Chambers’ latest Global rankings.

Overall, the firm is ranked in 8 practice areas with a Band 1 ranking in Singapore: Dispute Resolution (Litigation) for the 16th consecutive year.

We also share the limelight with our fellow DNA partner firms. Makarim & Taira S from Indonesia is ranked in Corporate/M&A and Projects & Energy, with three lawyers recognised while Shearn Delamore & Co. from Malaysia is ranked in Corporate/M&A, Banking & Finance and Banking & Finance: Debt Capital Markets, with three lawyers recognised. Our network colleagues, Martinez Vergara & Gonzalez Sociedad, from the Philippines are also ranked in Banking & Finance and Corporate/M&A.

Tilleke & Gibbins, the latest addition to the DNA family, also did well. The Bangkok-headquartered firm was ranked in six practice areas – General Business Law (for Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar), Corporate/M&A (for Thailand and Vietnam) and Projects & Energy (Thailand), with eight lawyers recognised.

These accolades add to our achievements in the Chambers Asia-Pacific 2024 guide, released in December 2023, as well as the Legal 500 Asia-Pacific guide, released in January 2024.
