Directors Terence Tan and Lau Wen Jin named in ALB Asia 40 Under 40 2026

We are delighted to share that Directors Terence Tan and Lau Wen Jin have been named in the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Asia 40 Under 40 2026 list. Terence’s and Wen Jin’s recognition is a fitting acknowledgement of their contributions and achievements in their respective fields, reaffirming Drew & Napier’s strong and consistent pipeline of legal talent. Drew once again has the highest number of lawyers recognised on the list among regional firms.
Within the past twelve months, Terence “served as lead counsel before the Singapore Court of Appeal in Wong Mei Lee Millie v Jake Ngor Shing Rong, securing a significant appellate victory that overturned a lower court judgment on critical questions of resulting trusts, residential property transaction structuring, and tax avoidance illegality.” He also “successfully defended Citibank Singapore in a multi-million-dollar fraudulent misrepresentation and negligence claim arising from over a thousand foreign exchange transactions, securing a full dismissal at trial and on appeal alongside an indemnity costs award.”
Wen Jin’s accolades include commendations from the Singapore Court of Appeal for his “valiant” legal representation and “diligent and painstaking effort” in seeking to persuade the court. Notably, Wen Jin has “succeeded as lead counsel in a landmark appeal regarding trusteeship before the Court of Appeal. His fraud and asset recovery work includes representing a renowned French filmmaker who was a victim of an elaborate fraud, successfully securing recovery by way of an urgent freezing injunction, disclosure order, and judgment.”
Now in its 12th edition, the annual ALB Asia 40 Under 40 list celebrates Asia's top 40 legal professionals across the region under the age of 40. Terence and Wen Jin were chosen from over 400 exceptional nominees. The lawyers featured come from a diverse range of jurisdictions and practice areas, and were selected through a thorough review that considered the quality of their work, recommendations from clients and colleagues, and their potential for future growth.
