Drew & Napier welcomes four new members to the Board

02 May 2025

We are pleased to announce that Directors Daniel Cai, Hoon Shu Mei, Ho Soo Lih and Seah Ching Ling have been admitted as shareholders and appointed as equity directors of Drew & Napier. All four directors are well-regarded in their respective fields and have each earned deserving recognition and praise from legal publications and clients alike.

Daniel practices civil litigation and international arbitration, with particular expertise in complex disputes involving construction, shareholder matters, and a wide range of commercial issues. He is a contributing author to the Singapore Civil Procedure and has been appointed by the Honourable the Chief Justice to the Inquiry Panel under the Legal Profession Act. Since beginning his career at Drew as a trainee in 2009, Daniel has been recognised by leading publications – including The Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation, and Asian Legal Business (as one of the ‘Asia Super 50 Disputes Lawyers’) – and is commended for his methodical and incisive approach to dispute resolution.

Shu Mei joined Drew in 2010 and has since built a niche in private client and family law disputes, especially disputes with an international element. In 2021, she was appointed as a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. Over the years, she has also earned numerous recognitions from various legal publications including Chambers, The Legal 500 and Benchmark Litigation. Clients have noted her work ethic and her ability to see “the bigger picture” in protecting family wealth. Shu Mei will continue to grow Drew’s private client and family disputes practice.

Soo Lih co-heads our real estate practice group and specialises in real estate transactions with a focus on corporate real estate work and high-net-worth individuals. He advises private and public listed companies, financial institutions, developers, funds and individuals in real estate transactions such as land tenders, joint ventures, share sale and purchases, real estate investment trusts, mortgagee sales, collective sales and commercial and residential leases. Clients commend his attention to detail and responsiveness and has been integral to the growth of our real estate practice.

Ching Ling first joined Drew as a trainee in 2002. She practices tax, trusts and estate planning in our tax and private client services practice group. She assists both local and foreign clients with estate planning including wills, establishing family and philanthropic trusts, drafting family constitutions and setting up private trust companies and family offices, among others. Leading legal publications, including Chambers and The Legal 500, have recognised her as a ‘next generation partner’, an ‘emerging talent’ and ‘up and coming’.

The Drew & Napier Board continues to grow in size and strength, now with 46 equity directors, as we maintain our strong conviction to serve our clients with our best.
