Director Siraj Omar SC appointed as Deputy Commissioner of the Government Procurement Adjudication Tribunal by Ministry of Finance

Drew & Napier is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Finance has appointed Director Siraj Omar SC as Deputy Commissioner of the Government Procurement Adjudication Tribunal. The appointment is for a two-year term commencing 1 April 2021.   The Tribunal’s role is to ascertain, in the event of a bid challenge, whether government procurement entities have carried out their procurement in accordance with the Government Procurement Act. This includes obligations governing the receipt, process and disposal of any complaint by suppliers for alleged non-compliance with the Act.

Siraj has been identified as a leading individual in dispute resolution and international arbitration by legal ranking publications such as Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 Asia-Pacific, and Asialaw Profiles.

Siraj currently also sits as a civilian panel member on the Military Court of Appeal and on the Working Group of the Professional Conduct Council chaired by the Chief Justice of Singapore. He holds Fellowships at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, and the Singapore Academy of Law.
