MyCC Investigates Cameron Highlands Floriculturist Association for Alleged Price-Fixing

24 Jul 2012

An update on the Malaysian Competition Commission's (MyCC) investigation on the Cameron Highlands Floriculturist Association (CHFA) for alleged price-fixing of flowers sold to distributors and wholesalers in Malaysia.

The MyCC's investigations were prompted by a statement by the President of the CHFA earlier in March 2012 which revealed that the approximately 100-member association had agreed to increase flower prices by 10% commencing 16 March 2012. Members of the CHFA are responsible for more than 90% of the total temperate cut flowers produced locally in Malaysia, with a total production value of RM$80 million (approx. S$32 million).
