MAS Proposes Enhanced Powers for Insurance Resolution

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) issued a consultation paper on the Insurance (Amendment) Bill, which proposed to empower MAS to act swiftly in situations where an insurer is in distress or in liquidation, in order to preserve stability and protect policy owners. The consultation closed on 28 January 2011.
