Ching Ling is one of Singapore’s most experienced private wealth lawyers, with more than two decades of continuous experience in trusts, succession and family wealth planning. She advises ultra-high-net-worth individuals, prominent business families, entrepreneurs and Forbes-listed billionaires from Singapore, Greater China, Southeast Asia, North Asia, India and Europe on complex cross-border wealth structuring and intergenerational succession.

Her practice spans the full spectrum of private wealth planning, including family and philanthropic trusts, private trust companies, family offices and investment structures, succession and estate planning, family governance, wills, lasting powers of attorney and probate. She regularly acts for first-generation wealth creators and multi-generational business families on the preservation and transition of family wealth, including the restructuring of existing trust arrangements and the establishment of governance frameworks for successive generations.

  • Advised a Singapore Forbes 10 family on restructuring its existing family trust and establishing new trusts for second-generation family members, including addressing significant cross-border tax and succession implications arising from family members relocating to high-tax jurisdictions.
  • Advised a Portuguese UHNW family on a multi-generational succession structure comprising a family office, a private trust company and several family trusts, including the separation of operating business interests from financial and investment assets.
  • Advised multiple Forbes-listed families on integrated family office, section 13U fund and trust structures, together with family governance and cross-border succession planning for multi-generational family wealth.
  • Advised Japanese, Taiwanese, Indonesian and Filipino UHNW families on the establishment and restructuring of family trusts and private wealth structures for intergenerational succession and asset preservation.
  • Advised a major Singapore sovereign investment institution on the establishment of its charitable trust and related foundation structure, including governance, regulatory and operational matters.
  • Advised one of Singapore’s leading banks on the establishment of its corporate philanthropic foundation, including structuring, governance and regulatory considerations.
