Drew Network Asia partner firm MVGS celebrates milestone anniversaries

Drew Network Asia (DNA) partner firm Martinez Vergara & Gonzalez Sociedad (MVGS) celebrated it’s 15th anniversary on 14 October 2022, held at the Manila Polo Club. The event also marked MVGS’ 1st anniversary as a partner firm in DNA.
The jubilant celebration was well attended by clients, peers and colleagues, which included partners and directors from Drew & Napier LLC, Makarim & Taira S., and Shearn Delamore & Co.
The event celebrated old and new triumphs that have shaped MVGS into a leading law firm in the region. Senior Partner Eduardo Martinez reminisced MVGS’ early days when they “laughed at each other’s dreams” but soon realised they were “headed in that direction year after year”. He also highlighted the added significance of this celebration in recognising the importance of their partnership with DNA, which not only provided an opportunity to expand their client base, it found itself a new partner and family.
The sentiment was echoed by the managing partners of the DNA partner firms. MVGS’ Manuel Z. Gonzalez commented, “We are very excited to be a pillar firm of DNA as its vision certainly aligns with MVGS. Joining the alliance enables us to expand our professional services in the region, and we look forward to a great partnership with the finest lawyers in the region”.
Drew’s CEO Cavinder Bull, SC said, “In spite of the ongoing pandemic, we have moved forward with our vision for growth, driven by our desire to meet the needs of our clients. DNA is increasingly a network of choice for any client looking to have representation of the highest quality throughout the ASEAN”.
Lia Alizia, managing partner of Makarim & Taira S. said, “With MVGS joining DNA, we are now a stronger network than before. We believe that each DNA member firm’s combined strength and capabilities stand us in good stead with the growing competition in the region”.
Dhinesh Bhaskaran, managing partner of Shearn Delamore & Co. said, “We welcome MVGS to the DNA family and look forward to serving our clients more seamlessly now that we have a network firm in the Philippines, giving us a wider reach in the region”.
The celebration also saw a special tribute by our Chairman, Mr Jimmy Yim, SC, and his wife, who performed several songs for the audience. He later presented an artwork to MVGS, titled “Helix Bridge”, by Singaporean artist Mohammed Khairul, from the Singapore Autistic Resource Centre, to commemorate this significant milestone. The artwork of the bridge represents the strong connection between DNA firms.
