Cavinder Bull SC recognised as a Top 30 Asia Litigator by Asian Legal Business 20 Jun 2025 We are pleased to share that our CEO, Cavinder Bull, SC, has been named one of the Top 30 Asia Litigators in the latest Asian Legal Business (ALB) rankings. Cavinder is recognised among the region’s foremost litigators who have consistently demonstrated legal excellence and expertise in dispute resolution. ALB’s selection process for the Top 30 Asia Litigators involved evaluating the complexity and profile of cases managed, client feedback, and the innovative use of technology in legal proceedings. The ALB Asia Top 30 Litigators list succeeds last year’s Top 15 Southeast Asia Litigators, where Cavinder was featured for two consecutive years. Cavinder’s inclusion in the list complements a series of recent awards, affirming his standing in the field. Last month, Cavinder was honoured as the Southeast Asia Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year 2025 by ALB for the fourth time, underscoring his strength in both litigation and arbitration. He was also named Commercial Litigation Lawyer of the Year at the Lexology Index Awards 2024 and Litigator of the Year at The Asia Legal Awards 2024. In an exclusive ALB interview, Cavinder reflected on how technological advances, including AI, are reshaping legal practice across Asia. He said, “AI is already being used in various areas of litigation, including to shorten timeframes for document production, analysis of expert reports, and summarising heavy briefing materials. This enables us to move quickly and seek much shorter timelines. This can be a competitive advantage and can also help deliver results to clients in a shorter period of time.” Cavinder also spoke about the importance of understanding the complexities involved in multi-jurisdictional disputes amid the evolving legal landscape across Asia. He explained that “understanding cultural differences is critical to dealing well with multi-jurisdictional disputes.” This goes beyond just legal systems and extends to “differences in legal cultures as well as differences that may affect how businesspeople say and do things.” Cavinder noted that “this is only possible if we reject parochialism and learn about the countries we are interacting with in Southeast Asia.” He explained that by cultivating this cultural sensitivity, legal professionals can avoid narrow perspectives and provide better service to their clients. On his approach to client relationships, Cavinder emphasised his commitment to trust and transparency. He stated, “Above all else, I try over time to leave clients with a deep understanding that as long as they are honest with me, I will always fight for them with everything that is at my disposal.” We would also like to extend our congratulations to our Drew Network Asia (DNA) pillar firm partner, Thawat Damsa-Ard of Tilleke & Gibbins, for being named among the Top 30 Litigators alongside Cavinder.
