Drew & Napier bags 3 awards at The Asian Lawyer Emerging Markets Awards 2016

25 Nov 2016

Drew & Napier was honoured with three awards at The Asian Lawyer Emerging Markets Awards 2016 held last night.

We were named the Commercial Litigation Firm of the Year, emerging victorious amongst other well-known litigation practices across Southeast Asia and India.

Our Director David Chee won the coveted title of Private Client Lawyer of the Year.

One of Drew’s deals clinched the Finance Deal of the Year: Banking award. The accolade is in recognition of our lawyers’ involvement in the $1.03 billion takeover of SGX-listed semiconductor company STATS ChipPAC Ltd by Jiangsu Changjiang Electronics Technology (JCET). The M&A team and the Banking & Finance team on this deal were led by Directors Sandy Foo and Farhana Siddiqui, Associate Director Renu Menon, Associates Lin Weihong, Goh Jun Yi and Teri Tan and Trainee Tan Jin Wei.

The winners were picked by the editors of New York-based ALM, which is the publisher of The Asian Lawyer, The American Lawyer and Corporate Counsel.

On receiving his Lawyer of the Year recognition, Mr Chee said, “I am humbled to receive this award, and I will continue to do my best for my clients and the industry.” Details of Mr Chee’s experience can be found in his profile here.

Drew’s CEO, Senior Counsel Davinder Singh, said “The Commercial Litigation Firm of the Year award belongs to our outstanding lawyers and staff. We ‎are grateful to our clients for entrusting their matters to us.‎" ‎

These accolades follow hot on the heels of our recent achievement at the Asialaw Asia-Pacific Dispute Resolution Awards 2016, where Drew was named National Law Firm of the Year – Singapore for the second year running.
