We are delighted to share that our CEO, Cavinder Bull SC was named Regional Managing Partner of the Year and Singapore Managing Partner of the Year at the annual Asian Legal Business (ALB) SE Asia Law Awards 2020 hosted virtually tonight.
The awards are recognition of Cavinder’s thoughtful leadership of our firm, especially in challenging times, as well as his vision in developing a regional footprint by launching Drew Network Asia. He clinched the regional and Singapore awards over 13 and 9 other nominees respectively.
Our firm also won the International Arbitration Law Firm of the Year award for the fifth year, an achievement that is testament to our firm’s formidable prowess in international arbitration.
Director Blossom Hing bagged the Woman Lawyer of the Year award, which recognises trail-blazing female lawyers with remarkable achievements not only in the practice of law, but also in the larger community especially in the empowerment of women. She was selected over 9 other nominees.
Drew & Napier’s CEO, Senior Counsel Cavinder Bull said: “I am pleasantly surprised and truly humbled. No ship is steered alone, and I would like to thank all our directors, especially our Chairman Jimmy Yim SC and Deputy CEO Sushil Nair for always being there for me and for the firm. We are grateful to receive multiple awards from ALB which is only made possible because of our incredible lawyers and staff, and the support of our valued clients who trust us time and again.”
We are also proud of the achievement of Drew Network Asia pillar firm Shearn Delamore & Co. from Malaysia. Shearn won the Project Finance Deal of the Year for acting in Project RAPID.
Now in its 16th year, the annual ALB SE Asia Law Awards pays tribute to the outstanding performance of private practitioners and in-house teams that have significantly contributed to the evolving legal landscape of the region. The winners were decided after a rigorous two-tier assessment by a panel of more than 30 judges from the legal academe, in-house teams, law firms, legal associations, and non-profit organisations in Southeast Asia. The 2020 awards ceremony was held virtually online for the first time due to the COVID-19 public health situation.
