Data Protection, Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Co-Head Lim Chong Kin authored the article on “Singapore's new generative AI guidance” of International Network of Privacy Law Professionals (INPLP).

The article provides an overview of Singapore's new generative AI guidance issued by the Personal Data Protection Commission and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) on 20 July 2026, namely, the Advisory Guidelines on Use of Personal Data in Generative AI and the Transparency Guidelines for Generative AI Chatbots. The article highlights how the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 applies across the AI lifecycle: generic privacy notices are insufficient for consent to AI training; and it also covers IMDA's proposed Chatbot Info Card for user-facing transparency, among others.
