This update would be of interest to individuals and organisations in Singapore who are doing business in UK or with UK entities.

Bribery is taking on an increasingly cross-border character. The latest country to take steps to tackle this problem of cross-border bribery is the UK with the UK Bribery Act 2010 (“UK Act”).

The UK Act was passed to reform the UK bribery law to deal more effectively with the increasingly sophisticated cross-border bribery in today’s globalised world.  It will come into force on 1 July 2011.
