While the global economic crisis of 2008 seems to be in the past, problems in Europe continue to cast a cloud over the global economy. 2011 started with many having a positive, even bullish, outlook. Although 2011 did not perhaps turn out to be the banner year some were hoping for, Singapore generally saw an increase in investor activity.

It is no secret that many investors, including PE and VC funds, had been sitting on cash during the financial crisis and are now actively looking for potential acquisitions and other investment opportunities. With the continuing problems in the US and Europe, Asia continues for many to be the focus of investment activity.
