MAS Issues Proposed Amendments to the Securities and Futures Act and Financial Advisers Act Disputes

This update discusses the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (“MAS”) consultation on its proposed amendments to the Securities and Futures Act (“SFA”) and Financial Advisers Act (“FAA”). The proposed amendments to the SFA and FAA are to effect policy positions set out in MAS’s earlier consultations proposing enhancements to:

(a)        the regulatory framework for unlisted investment products; and

(b)        both listed and unlisted investment products sold to retail investors.
