The Personal Data Protection Act (“PDPA”) was gazetted on 3 December 2012. The PDPA is Singapore’s first general baseline law on data protection, and signals an important milestone for Singapore as it seeks to bridge the gap between Singapore’s laws and international trends in respect of data protection.
