03 Sep 2025

We are pleased to announce that Director Blossom Hing, SC, has been appointed by the Minister for Finance and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong as a member to the board of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and by the Minister for Law Edwin Tong, SC as a member to the Council of the Law Society of Singapore.  Both appointments took effect on 1 September 2025.

IRAS is Singapore’s principal tax authority, responsible for the administration of taxes and supporting the nation’s fiscal policies. As a statutory board under the Ministry of Finance, it plays a central role in advancing Singapore’s economic and social development.

The Law Society of Singapore is the representative body for all lawyers in Singapore. The Council leads the Society in upholding the honour and independence of the legal profession, ensuring high standards of service to the public, and providing guidance on professional matters.

Blossom’s appointments reflect her standing as one of Singapore’s leading disputes and restructuring lawyers. She appears regularly before the Singapore High Court, Appellate Division, and Court of Appeal, and acts in international arbitrations under major institutions. She has been consistently recognised as a Band 1 lawyer in Restructuring & Insolvency by Chambers Asia-Pacific and is a Hall of Fame lawyer in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific. In 2025, she was appointed Senior Counsel by the Chief Justice of Singapore.

Blossom is also active internationally. She serves as a member of the Court of Arbitration of the Abu Dhabi International Arbitration Centre, sits on the Council of the ICC Institute of World Business Law, and is a founding member of the Singapore chapter of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation.
