Director Lim Chong Kin, Head of Telecommunications, Media & Technology, named as ALB Asia’s Top 15 TMT Lawyer for 3 consecutive years

We are pleased to share that Director Lim Chong Kin, Head of Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) and Managing Director of Corporate & Finance, has been named as one of Asia’s top 15 TMT lawyers by Asian Legal Business (ALB). Chong Kin holds the unique distinction of being the sole TMT lawyer from Singapore to make it to this list for three consecutive years.

Chong Kin was selected by ALB’s research team and judges based on the following criteria: most significant TMT work done in his career and in the last 12 months; key and new clients attained; significant accolades/ awards or recognition earned; client recommendations; and comments given by managing partners/ colleagues. He was picked from a total of 93 entries from top TMT lawyers in Asia, where 18 came from Singapore.

Chong Kin’s selection by ALB’s independent judging panel was based on a set of rigorous criteria. This selection reverberates with significance, as it underscores his exceptional contributions to the TMT realm over an illustrious career spanning more than three decades, as well as his recent accomplishments within the last year, including: acquiring key and new clients, the significant accolades, awards, and recognition he has garnered, the glowing client recommendations, and the valuable insights provided by managing partners and colleagues. From a competitive field of 50 submissions representing the crème de la crème of TMT legal practitioners in Asia, Chong Kin emerged as the embodiment of excellence, with a noteworthy 7 contenders emanating from Singapore.

In ALB Asia's Top 15 TMT Lawyers feature article, Chong Kin shared three perspectives on (1) a recent noteworthy case, with a focus on the challenges faced and the strategies employed to navigate them effectively; (2) the evolving landscape of cross-border regulations and jurisdictional challenges in the context of international data flows and digital services, how they are expected to impact the operational dynamics of TMT companies and their legal counsel requirements; and (3) the increasingly intricate nature of legal challenges within the ever-changing TMT sector, driven by emerging technologies, were examined, with a prediction of growing complexity.
