In our fourth webinar of the SDF series, this session provides a practical overview of how Singapore regulates video games across different legal regimes, including the distinction between offline and online games under the Films Act 1981 and Broadcasting Act 1994, IMDA’s content classification and Internet regulatory frameworks and the emerging online safety obligations applicable to app distribution services and online platforms”.
The session will also examine the legal treatment of loot boxes under the Gambling Control Act 2022, including when such mechanics may constitute remote games of chance, the operation of Singapore’s class licence framework and the Government’s ongoing consideration of the appropriate safeguards.
