Online safety developments in Singapore: Age assurance measures and platform accountability

21 July 2026

Singapore’s online safety regime is evolving rapidly to keep pace with the rising exposure to harmful online content and behaviour, particularly among children and other vulnerable users.

This webinar will examine the latest developments in Singapore’s online safety laws and highlight policy drivers behind stronger regulation. It will then consider key regulatory developments, including IMDA’s Code of Practice for Online Safety for App Distribution Services, which requires designated app stores to implement age assurance measures to prevent users under 18 from accessing age-inappropriate apps.

The webinar will also explore the upcoming Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Act 2025, which among other things, establishes the Online Safety Commission, creates mechanisms for timely victim redress, introduces statutory torts and enhances accountability of online service providers. Attendees will gain practical insight into Singapore’s increasingly multi-layered approach to online safety.

The discussion will be particularly relevant for legal, compliance, policy, product and trust-and-safety teams navigating Singapore’s digital regulatory landscape.
