The role of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) has changed significantly over the past 5 years. Not only have more countries enacted data protection laws, many are also enacting (or expanding) laws and promoting regulatory frameworks for cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) governance. As a response to this, some DPOs have been required to take on expanded portfolios while others may share responsibilities with teams that are primarily responsible for cybersecurity and AI within their organisations.
In this webinar, we shall explore how the three domains of data protection, cybersecurity and AI governance interact and what the future role of the DPO may be. We shall also consider how organisations may develop a harmonised approach to data governance that ensures appropriate protection of personal data while they seek to make better use of their data assets using AI and other technologies.
