Drew & Napier Competition Law Practice Expands

Drew & Napier’s Competition Law & Regulatory Practice recently welcomed two new members to the team, boosting Drew’s unparalleled legal support to clients on competition matters in Singapore and ASEAN.
The first member is Dr Corinne Chew, who holds a Ph.D in Competition Law from King’s College London and was supervised by Professor Richard Whish, a renowned EU competition law expert. Corinne has substantial experience in competition advisory, merger notifications to the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) as well as the setting up compliance and audit programmes in a wide range of industries throughout ASEAN including Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.
The second member is Ms Corrine Chia, who was a Senior Assistant Director of both the Policy & Economics Analysis as well as the International Affairs departments at the CCS. Corrine led many cross-functional investigations as well as undertook extensive policy and economic analyses at CCS. She was also heavily involved in the development of competition law and policy for ASEAN, having pioneered the formation of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition. Corrine is the only Singaporean selected as a US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) International Fellow, having assisted the FTC in assessing a US$1.6 billion acquisition by The Dow Chemical Company in 2009.

Drew’s Competition Law & Regulatory Practice, established in 1999, has grown to become the largest dedicated competition law practice in Singapore. Over the years, the group has been actively involved in the development of general and sectoral competition law in Singapore. They have also become the preferred competition law counsel of many regional companies, multinational corporations, associations and government bodies.

Drew & Napier’s Competition Law & Regulatory Practice, established in 1999, is the oldest and the largest competition law practice in Singapore. Established six years before the enactment of the Singapore Competition Act (Cap. 50B) in 2005, our experience has grown in tandem with the development of both general and sectoral competition laws in Singapore to be one of the most established competition and regulatory practices in Singapore.
The Practice comprises both competition lawyers and competition economists to provide economics-based legal advice that is in line with the Singapore Competition Commission’s embrace of modern, economics-based analysis of competition matters. Our team comprises many experienced competition law practitioners including the previous Director of Economics of the Competition Commission of Singapore and Senior Investigator from the New Zealand Commerce Commission.
