CCS Releases Report on Retail Petrol Market Inquiry
30 May 2011
This Competition Law update studies the Competition Commission of Singapore’s (“CCS”) findings following a recent market inquiry into the competitiveness of the Singapore retail petrol market.
CCS focused on four issues in its inquiry, namely:
(a) whether the current retail petrol market structure is conducive to
competition;
(b) whether the available evidence suggests an uncompetitive market;
(c) whether there is evidence of collusion between competitors in the retail
petrol market; and
(d) whether there are regulatory obstacles to competition in the retail petrol
market.
