Drew & Napier has always known where our priorities lie in creating our unique
identity. While we consistently work hard to provide the best service for our clients, it is equally important to us that our lawyers have a quality lifestyle.
We pride ourselves on being able to offer that something extra which will make all the difference to you as a young lawyer. Whilst our culture is best appreciated through personal experience, here are some quick points:
- We treat you as an integral part of the firm from day one, as we believe that our pupils are the foundation of our future.
- Our philosophy is that people cannot be at their best unless they are happy. That is why our working environment is very important to us. We practise an open-door policy. You will find that our lawyers and staff are friendly, approachable and always quick to lend a helping hand.
- Some law students worry that if they join a big organisation, they will be overlooked in the crowd and not be valued as individuals. This is not so at Drew. We may have grown into a large professional practice but our spirit of teamwork and camaraderie has not been lost.
- At Drew, we are committed to realising the potential of all our pupils and lawyers.
The Drew culture is not just about work. We believe that it is important to have all-rounded lawyers. This is why Drew & Napier organizes a wide variety of activities and events to help usher this environment of fun. At work and at play, we always strive to be the best.
We also believe in team bonding, and in building strong ties amongst our lawyers and our staff. Here are some events penciled into our events calendar:
- Overseas Firm Trips. We pack the entire firm off to destinations such as Hong Kong, Bangkok and Phuket. We bring them on tour packages, to glamorous dinners and crazy parties where everyone from directors to pupils, boogie to the sun rises.
- Chilling Out. There is always a good reason for us to hold a bash. Every year, a large party is thrown for the pupils to mark the end of their 6-months pupilage. However, the most important bash is our annual party where we toast our friends and colleagues and herald in the brand new year. Do expect a lot of fun!

- Food. We have our monthly birthday celebrations organized by a special group, The Cake People. We also have monthly tea gatherings held in-house or at venues such as Penny Black, Mad Flemmings and Molly Malone’s. At Drew, you won’t go hungry!
- Sports events and activities. Our competitive edge and team spirit is not limited to law. We take this on the soccer fields, golf lawns, cross-country tracks and even the beach. We even have a group of dedicated joggers who cover the Shenton Way routes weekly. For those who prefer something more low-impact, kick boxing and stretch & tone classes are also available.
- Social Activities. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so we organize car rallies, beach parties, cooking classes, Peranakan Heritage Tour, wine appreciation, and even a tour of Sins Chocolate Factory!
- Charity. As a firm, we strongly believe that we are in a position to make a difference to those whose needs matter more. Apart from pro-bono work, we have a Charities Committee headed by a director. We have organized numerous events throughout the last few years, including the Annual Children's Christmas Party and the Children's Outing to Labrador Park.
