Drew & Napier is Top IP Firm for Unprecedented 9 Straight Years
Drew & Napier has once again been ranked the top Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year in Singapore by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) in its World IP Survey 2008. This is an unprecedented 9th consecutive award for Drew & Napier and is the clearest affirmation of its pre-eminence in this area. Morris John, head of Drew’s IP practice, received the award on 9 April 2008 at the MIP Awards gala dinner in London. The event was attended by top IP lawyers and clients worldwide.
MIP –internationally recognised as a leading IP publication – conducted the survey based on responses from clients, in-house counsel and practitioners. The results placed Drew & Napier in the top tier for Patent and Trademark Prosecution; Patent and Trademark Litigation; and Copyright (contentious).
The firm’s renowned strength in this area is apparent from its involvement in several high-profile cases.
Most recently, Dedar Singh Gill – one of Drew & Napier’s leading IP experts – successfully represented the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) against Virtual Map, a provider of online map and related services, for infringement of its copyright in the maps, street directory data and address point data. The case was closely followed by the media, and generated a great deal of public interest.

In addition, Chambers Asia acknowledged Drew’s ‘pre-eminent position in the market’.
