DREW & NAPIER IS ONCE AGAIN TOP DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND ARBITRATION FIRM
Drew is only one to clinch both Commercial Litigation and International Arbitration Law Firm of the Year awards – 2-time winner

5 June 2009 – Top Singapore law firm, Drew & Napier LLC (“D&N”) swept the dispute resolution prizes at the Asian Legal Business (ALB) SE Asia Law Awards 2009. The firm stands as the only one to achieve this feat of clinching both the Commercial Litigation and International Arbitration Law Firm of the Year awards. The unique double triumph, which was also achieved in 2007, seals Drew & Napier’s reputation as the top disputes practice in Singapore.

Drew & Napier has won the Commercial Litigation Law Firm of the Year since the inception of the Awards in 2005, making this the fifth consecutive year it has received this honour. More importantly, this marks the second year the firm has won the International Arbitration Law Firm of the Year award, a category traditionally dominated by foreign law firms in Singapore. Drew is the first-ever Singapore law firm to win this award—and now the first to win two in the space of 3 years.

In one of the recent cases, Drew successfully represented the majority shareholders of Malaysia Dairy Industries Pte Ltd in a widely-publicised shareholder dispute.

In addition, Resorts World at Sentosa’s project finance has clinched both the Project Finance Deal of the Year award and the prestigious Singapore Deal of the Year award. This award-winning deal is one of the largest non-traditional syndicated project financing deals ever undertaken in Singapore’s banking history. Drew & Napier was lead counsel for Resorts World at Sentosa in its syndication of up to S$4.195 billion syndicated senior secured credit facilities for the construction and development of the world-class integrated resort on Singapore’s Sentosa Island

In all, Drew received 4 out of the 34 awards given out at the awards ceremony, held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Singapore on 5 June 2009.

The ALB Awards recognise outstanding legal work in Singapore and South East Asia, and is assessed by a panel of independent judges. The judging criteria takes into consideration the size, degree of advanced legal techniques used, number of jurisdictions, practice areas, industries and parties involved, and the application of groundbreaking or original legal techniques and structures.
