Drew & Napier acted for Lonza Group Ltd, the first Swiss-listed group to list on the Singapore Exchange in its Secondary Listing
20 October 2011 - Drew & Napier LLC has acted for Lonza Group Ltd ("Lonza"), in its secondary listing on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited ("SGX-ST") by way of introduction. Lonza is the first SIX Swiss-listed company to list on the SGX-ST. This is the fourth secondary listing since 2010 that Drew & Napier has been mandated to advise on, making Drew & Napier a market leader in the area of secondary listings on the SGX.
Listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange (the "SIX") since November 1999, Lonza is one of the world's leading suppliers to the pharmaceutical, healthcare and life science industries.
Lonza expects to make its trading debut on the Main Board of the SGX-ST at 9:00 am tomorrow, 21 October 2011 (Singapore time).
Based on the closing market price of the company’s shares quoted on the SIX on 19 October 2011, Lonza has a market capitalization of approximately CHF2,982 million. This corresponds to approximately S$4,183 million based on an exchange rate of CHF1.00 to S$1.4028 as quoted by Bloomberg on 19 October 2011.
As the listing was the first SIX-SGX listing, the Drew & Napier team faced various challenges including the resolution of regulatory issues with the SGX and MAS, and coordination between parties all over the world.
