About Winston

Winston joined Drew & Napier LLC as an Associate Director in August 2007. Prior to that, he practiced law in Malaysia first as a Senior Associate at Shook Lin & Bok, Kuala Lumpur and later as a Partner in Lee Ong & Kandiah, Kuala Lumpur. He has been made Director in 2010.

Areas of Practice

Winston’s main area of practice is in Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, Banking and Debt Restructuring.

Experience

Winston has advised various banks, multi-national companies, listed and private companies and statutory bodies in a wide range of corporate, commercial and finance work.

The matters Winston has handled include:-
  • Mergers, acquisitions, divestments and corporate restructuring exercises of companies involved in industries ranging from banking, insurance, construction materials, private healthcare, confectionery, manufacturing and trading.
  • The issuance of RM550 million serial bonds by an independent power producer in Malaysia.
  • Advised a European creditor in the RM8.6 billion group-wide debt restructuring scheme of a Malaysian public listed company and its subsidiaries in one of the largest debt restructuring exercise in Malaysia.
  • Advised various banks, including offshore and foreign, in various financing transactions including structured trade financing and financing for offshore marine equipment for oil and gas exploration
