Drew & Napier LLC has a large and dynamic Building and Construction Business Group handling all aspects of building and construction work.

Our multi-disciplinary Building and Construction team comprises not only lawyers, but also an engineer, giving us a competitive edge with extensive knowledge of the industry. We are therefore equipped to handle not only the legal issues, but also have a firm understanding of the technical and practical issues involved in building and construction related matters. This facilitates the evaluation and presentation of expert evidence in appropriate cases.

We have a close working relationship with industry professionals, including architects, civil and structural engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers and other experts.

Our services encompass both contentious and non-contentious aspects of construction and infrastructure related work.

The non-contentious work involves drafting and general advisory services for contractors and developers in projects including, contracts for appointment of consultants, main contractor and nominated sub-contractors. The contentious work includes advice and claims for work done, post-construction default, prolongation costs, variations and damages.

We also advise on insurance issues in relation to building and construction matters.

The Building and Construction team works closely with our Infrastructure team on construction issues in relation to infrastructure projects, as well as with the Real Estate team on building-related property and conveyancing matters.
