Drew & Napier LLC has welcomed back construction and engineering specialist Lee Chau Ee. He re-joins us from the Dubai office of US law firm, Reed Smith, where he founded and headed up its Middle East Construction and Engineering practice. He was later appointed Reed Smith’s Dubai office managing partner and a member of their global leadership team.

Chau Ee has been consistently recognised as a leading practitioner in Legal 500 (EMEA) for Construction, Chambers and Partners (Chambers Global) for Construction Dispute Resolution and Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Experts for Construction. Chambers Global 2013 reports that “The well-respected Chau Ee regularly assists some of the team’s highest profile clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters.”

Chau Ee qualified and spent his formative years at Drew & Napier. For the majority of his career, he worked in US and UK law firms in Singapore, London and Dubai.

For almost two decades, Chau Ee has worked on contentious and non-contentious aspects of construction and engineering projects, with a particular expertise in the energy and infrastructure sectors, advising clients across the supply chain from conception to completion and beyond of the project life-cycle spanning numerous jurisdictions including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Republic of China, Hong Kong, People’s Republic of China, UK, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Egypt and Bahrain.

Besides a law degree, Chau Ee also has a Master of Science in Construction Management (Project Management).

Drew & Napier’s CEO, Mr Davinder Singh, SC said: “We are very pleased to have Chau Ee return to Drew & Napier. He is well regarded in the field of construction law, and an excellent addition to the legal fraternity in Singapore.”

Chau Ee said, “When I decided to return home, Drew & Napier was an obvious choice - it is my natural environment. Indeed, Drew is the top Dispute Resolution practice and a logical fit for me as this is my area of expertise. Given this is an exciting time for the international construction industry, particularly in Asia, and having been involved in setting up Drew’s Construction & Engineeringpractice in my early days, I now look forward to growing the practice together with my first-rate team of colleagues.”
