Trademarks and Servicemarks

We assist clients to protect their rights in copyright and designs, including infringement and enforcement actions.

Patents
Another significant area of our intellectual property practice is patent protection, including applying for patent protection in Singapore either domestically or through the Patent Co-operation Treaty (PCT). For this purpose, the Singapore Patent Office is a PCT Receiving Office assisting in obtaining patent protection in other countries through our associates world-wide conducting patent searches, and effecting renewals and assignments.

Franchising, Licensing, Distribution and Technology Transfer
In an increasingly complex world, ideas and secrets are amongst the most valuable assets of any organisation. We are able to provide services for the protection and exploitation of our client's ideas, rights and assets. We negotiate and prepare domestic and international franchises, licences, confidentiality, distributorship, and dealership agreements. Our lawyers provide corporate and tax-related advice to assist clients who wish to set up office in Singapore.

Our lawyers also advise on various aspects of technology transfer, and draft and review agreements to develop, license, procure and finance all IP rights including computer software and hardware projects (see Infocomms section). We counsel our clients on laws and regulations concerning the marketing and advertising of goods and services, and liaise with governmental ministries, authorities and statutory bodies on our clients' behalf. We also advise on media, entertainment and telecommunications laws.
